The Struggle

Combating the urges of old ways with this new acceptable path. 

Driving that need for adventure and temptation way down, 

Burying it with moments of temporary anecdotes, 

Which in turn only fuels another fire. 

Quietly I drown both with a splash of reality 

As the crumbling of what has been built thus far is way too risky to make moves, 

As well as the longing..... 

It doesn't stop the longing. 

The battle of who I am or was 

And who I am now or want to be... 

The past gets the best of me some days. 

Raising thoughts and emotions that can only lead to misguided misfortunes,

Heartbreak as well as passion.

And yes...... Adventure.
